Booking Process

How long is the ride from Montrose to Telluride?

The distance is approximately 65 miles, which typically takes about an hour and a half. However, due to weather conditions, the journey can take up to 2 hours.

What types of vehicles do you offer for transportation?

We offer Luxury Suburbans and Ford Transit Vans. Some of our vans can accommodate up to 14 passengers, while our Suburbans comfortably fit up to 5 passengers.

Are Ubers and Lyfts available?

Ride shares like Uber and Lyft can be difficult to find in remote areas, so it’s best not to rely on them. Our shared shuttle option is a great alternative that provides reliable service where these companies may fall short.

Why should I use TelluRides instead of renting a car?

Once you’re in mountain towns like Ridgway, Ouray, Silverton, or Telluride, you won’t need a car. Most attractions and amenities are easily accessible by gondola, free local shuttles, or on foot. Skip the hassle of renting a car, paying for gas, parking, and insurance—plus navigating snowy mountain roads. Relax and let us handle the driving!

Do you offer any discounts or promotions for frequent travelers or groups?

Yes, we offer discounts for large ski groups and wedding guests. Please call our office to discuss a personalized discount.

What payment methods do you accept?

We will process payment using the card we have on file. Checks are only accepted for larger amounts, and you must notify our office in advance if you plan to pay by check.

Are your vehicles wheelchair accessible?

Our vehicles are not wheelchair accessible; however, we can store collapsible wheelchairs securely during your trip. Please call our office to discuss any additional options.

What safety measures do you have in place, especially in light of COVID-19?

We avoid overcrowding our vehicles and ensure thorough cleaning after each trip to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.

Are car seats or boosters an extra cost?

No, car seats and boosters are provided at no extra cost. Please let us know in advance if you need one, and we’ll have it ready for you. However, if you have an infant or specific fitting needs, we recommend bringing your own car seat. If you don’t notify us ahead of time that you need a car seat or booster, an additional fee may apply.

Are pets allowed in the vehicle?

Yes, cats and dogs are permitted on private rides only, with a $45 fee for each pet. Please ensure dogs have a bathroom break before entering the vehicle. Dogs must remain on a leash and lie on the vehicle floor at all times. Cats must be kept in carriers. A cleaning fee may apply if extra cleaning time is needed due to the pet. Other animals may be allowed on a case-by-case basis.


Private Transportation

Where do I find my driver once I land?

Your driver will be waiting to greet you as you exit the terminal, before you get to baggage claim. They will be holding a sign with the passengers name. 

Do you offer assistance with luggage handling?

Yes, our driver will assist you with your luggage and load it into the vehicle. Please notify us in advance about any oversized luggage.

Are your drivers trained and experienced with mountain driving?

Many of our drivers at TelluRides are long-time locals who are highly experienced navigating mountain roads and winter conditions. During the colder months, all of our vehicles are equipped with winter-grade studded tires for maximum safety and performance. We also ensure every driver is thoroughly trained in both company policies and official driving and traffic regulations.

What happens if I have a private pickup scheduled and my flight is delayed or canceled?

We are not liable if you miss your flight. If you miss a connecting flight, a new reservation will be required. In the case of delays, we will charge for wait time. It is the passenger's responsibility to notify us of any flight delays or cancellations. To cover potential extra expenses due to flight disruptions, we recommend considering travel insurance.

Where will my driver pick me up and drop me off?

We can pick you up at your door! No need to walk to a central location. 

How can I contact my driver?

You will have access to the driver's phone number the day of your trip. The driver will contact you one hour prior to your pickup time and when they have arrived to pick you up.

Are there restrooms available during the journey?

We encourage you to use the restroom at the airport or your lodging before departure. Restrooms are available in the towns of Montrose and Telluride, but there are few options along the route.

Can I eat in the vehicle?

We do not allow food or open beverages in the vehicle. However, re-sealable water bottles are permited. 

Can I request a stop?

Yes, stops are allowed for private vehicles. Stops at grocery stores, liquor stores, dispensaries, scenic spots, and fast food places will incur an additional charge. To request a stop, please contact us prior to the day of your trip.

1. 15-minute pre-order pick-up: included
2. 30-minute grocery shop: $45
3. 60-minute grocery shop: $95

Same-day stop requests will incur an extra charge. Unplanned bathroom breaks are free, unless they exceed 15 minutes, in which case a fee will apply.

Pick up on your Arrival

  • 1. Upon deplaning, proceed to the terminal exit doors located on the first level of the airport.
  • 2. Once you exit the terminal, you should see a TelluRides Staff member with a Welcome Sign adorned with your Last Name or Group Name
  • 3. If you do not see the Staff Member, go ahead to Baggage Claim and keep an eye on your phone.

Pick up on your Return 

  • 1. You should get text updates starting when your Driver is on the way to pick you up.
  • 2. You should get a text or call when your driver arrives at your pickup location

Pick-ups from Telluride/ Mountain Village 

If you do not book onto an early enough shuttle, we are not liable if you miss your flight.

Winter Travel: We suggest that guests book onto a Shuttle no less than 4 hours  from their scheduled flight departure. 

Summer Travel: We suggest that guests book onto a shuttle no less than 3 hours from their scheduled flight departure.

Winter Travel: Please be mindfull that if you land 30 minutes prior to your shuttle, you may miss the Shuttle departure time. We suggest that you request a shuttle no less than 30 minutes after you land.

How do I book a Shared Shuttle?
  1. Book Online- Schedule your trip based on the shared shuttle times listed above.

  2. Provide your flight details so we can confirm the best shuttle for your arrival and departure. 

  3. Select "Next Step"

  4. Scroll down in the "SelecT Vehicle" page to find the "Shared Shuttle Service"

  5. Select "Request for Pricing - Choose Vehicle" to send us a quote request. *You are not yet fully booked. 

  6. Wait for us to send you a priced quote. Once you receive this, you can confirm it with a card to finalize your reservation.

Do you allow stops on the shared shuttle?

No, shared shuttles do not make any stops aside from the pre-scheduled guest drop-offs. Only private services can request additional stops, and you have the option to upgrade to a private shuttle up to 48 hours before your trip.

What happens if my flight is delayed or canceled and I’m booked on a shared shuttle

If your flight is delayed but you land before the scheduled shuttle time, we'll wait for you to get through baggage claim. However, if you miss your shuttle, we will need to charge for your reserved seats. Depending on your new arrival time, we may be able to schedule you on a later shuttle and create a new reservation for you.

How many people will be on my shuttle?

We strive to keep our rides comfortable and avoid overcrowding. While our shuttles can accommodate up to 14 passengers, we typically book no more than 10. However, we can't guarantee the exact number of passengers at the time of your booking.

What type of vehicle will my shared shuttle be?

We will pick up all scheduled passegers in a Ford transit van with our company logo on the side. 

Are there restrictions on group sizes for shared shuttle bookings?

Yes, we only allow groups of 1-5 passengers to book a shared shuttle. Since we operate a limited number of shuttles each day and typically accommodate up to 10 passengers per shuttle, we prioritize single riders or small groups to ensure availability for all.

Do you offer assistance with luggage handling?

Pick up on your Return 

  • *Please be mindful that other guests will be in the shuttle with you and, therefore, waiting on you if you are not ready at the pickup time.
  • 1. Please be ready 30 minutes before and after your scheduled shuttle time.
  • 2. You will get a text or call when your driver arrives at your location.
